Dear Šárka,

Before you head off for some summer sun, start planning for the post-summer blues! The European Parliament Multilingualism Day 2019 will give you a bright start to autumn!

On 28 September, Multilingualism Day will once again give you the chance to peek behind the curtain and see what it takes to work in 24 languages. Take a look at the Multilingualism Day webpage to see what’s in store.

Multilingualism is hardwired into the European Parliament with a democratic duty to ensure that all citizens of the European Union can follow and understand debates, documents and daily business. Achieving this requires the determined work of the European Parliament’s translators and interpreters.

At Multilingualism Day you can have a go at translating and interpreting, discover the Hemicycle and learn how parliamentary debates take place with interactive talks, as well as much more. You can put your questions to translators and interpreters and find out how to turn your language skills into a career. The House of European History will also host special guided tours on linguistic diversity throughout history.

Know someone who would be interested? Don’t hesitate to share this invitation!

Yours sincerely,

Anna and Cécile
